107 Chiayi City resource recycling convenience station setting work plan

Environmental Protection Bureau, Chiayi City (abbreviated as EPB in the following descriptions) initiated a project to facilitate the establishment of 20 recycling stations this year (2018) to reduce the quantities of garbages and improve the recycling effectiveness. The project was based on boroughs and targeted to promote the “Recycling Convenient Stops in Chiayi” to change the recycling concepts and habits of the citizens. People were encouraged to well collect the recycling materials generated by cleaning their houses or environment of the neighborhood then they can send the materials to the recycling convenient stops in boroughs to gain the rewards for some daily supplements with environmental protection certificates. The recycling quantities were increased and the garbages were reduced at the end. Also, the recycling materials could be sold to earn funds for the social welfare improvement, environmental maintenance and recycling station operations etc. in the boroughs. This is a win-win project to bring the citizens the better environments. The project has submitted 15 and 5 recycling stations in villages or boroughs plans on March 28th and April 20th., and completed the first education and training on April 30th.,followed by completion of rebuilding images of 20 recycling convenient stops on May 13rd..The achievement results since May 14th. were collated 119,081.3 kg of recycling materials and total earnings of the recycling materials were NT$233,294 with 4,394 attendees. The highest recycled quantities took 64.47% which were all papers and weighed 76,774.6 kg. The next was electrical equipment items with 14,741.8 kg and took 12.38% of total. The third was 11,077.5 kg of metal, and took 9.3% of total. Miscellaneous, glass and plastics account for a small portion.The highest exchange rate and average recycled quantities by person were fallen in Bauan village, the total recycled quantities were 14,304.2 kg. and recycled earnings of them, the highest achievement results one was Hwanan village, with NT$36,809, and the attendees were 517 people. There had already carried out 50 sessions of village tour rewards exchange and resource recycling ideas promotional activity, with 2,785 attendees, the highest recycled quantities were all glass and weighed 1,289.1 kg. The lighting sources were the lowest item and weighed only 238.3kg. In order to increase the effectiveness of the promotion, we add fun category games and Q&A, to strengthen the promotion of batteries, light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, glass separation and waste paper containers. The people who complete the game will be given the scrub as a reward. Let the people deepen the concept of classification of resource recycling, and use it in daily life effectively, and resource recycling can be implemented in life. DIY implementation activities of the concept of resource recycling and environmental protection were conducted 20 sessions on June, September and October with 1,202 attendees. It is expected that students will convey the importance of resource recycling and reuse through DIY experience and strengthen education and promote students' resource recovery and classification work. At the same time, we hope students can understand the rarity of resources, and cherish the resources on our planet, and implement them together with parents in daily life to increase the rate of resource recovery and convey the concept of recycling sustainability.
